Yeah, sorry about the retread. To some extent, I boxed myself into a certain amount of retreads when I originally started plotting, by asking the question "How can I kill Duncan and not Lilly, and still start out in about the same place as cannon?" It was also originally a crutch: I was terrified that I couldn't pull off the original stuff, so I stayed close to cannon for the first few chapters (both of which, I think, were written before anything else I've posted). It will slowly start pulling away from cannon events, I promise. Concrit, of course, is always appreciated.
